the first day of the tenth lunar month is china’ s traditional festival of sacrifice--the winter clothing festival. people worshiped late ancestors through sacrificing and renovating the tomb this day, also called sending clothes for the winter.
at 5: 30 am on nov. 5, 2021, shaolin monks gathered at the hall, had morning reciting together to chant and bless, and then got to the pagoda forest of shaolin temple to worship ancestors under the leadership of abbot shi yongxin.
according to traditional fold customs and buddhist rituals, abbot shi yongxin presided over the dharma assembly and shaolin monks devoutly worshiped ancestors in front of the pagoda forest.
abbot yongxin, together with monks, chanted, sacrificed and burned five-color paper to express their gratitude and remembrance to founders and holy ones of generations in front of the pagoda forest.
